The Doliniany-Rohatyn Aufrichtigs

Rohatyn was between 1792 and 1919 part of the Austrian province of Galicia. From 1919 until 1945 it formed part of Poland. Briefly occupied by the Soviet Union after the start of the Second World War, it fell into German hands in July 1941. The city now forms part of the Ukraine.

At  the outbreak of war, Rohatyn had an estimated Jewish population of 2,500. By June 1943 most had been murdered either in the ghetto set up by the Germans in 1941 or Belzec KZ.
