According to records, Otto Aufrichtig was deported from Prague to Lodz on Transport C-846 on 26 October 1941. The records appeared to suggest that he died there, shortly after. However, according to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum (USHMM), Otto was deported from Lodz to Flossenburg in 1945. In response to an inquiry they advised:
"Otto Aufrichtig arrived in Flossenbuerg in 1945. The final deportations from Lodz/Littmannstadt to Auschwitz didn’t happen until the spring of 1944. Many of the people from Lodz were then sent to other labor camps. As the war ended, prisoners from eastern camps were continuously sent westward and ended up in camps in Germany in the winter/spring of 1945."
There
does not appear to be any information concerning Otto's fate at
Flossenburg. |
